At Home Couple's Therapy: "We're Moving"
While talking with your partner and finding you're clearly not on the same page, couples often find that a simple conversation can quickly escalate to a conflict.
How can anything be resolved when both individuals feel the need to be heard and the desire to defend their desire or attack the other is as though it's an unmovable mountain?
The strategy here is simple and straightforward:
Rather than moving the mountain, consider moving the argument.
So, next time you find yourselves in a conflict. Your thoughts and ideas are clashing at an incredible rate of speed. Nothing seems to be improving. No one feels heard or understood.
MOVE.
Literally moving locations of your argument and changing the environment can provide enough of a change in the experience to elicit clarity in the moment and help arrive at a more desirable outcome for your relationship.
Love well.
Love often.
